NASA scientist finds evidence of alien life?

         Original Post March 8, 2011
Several years ago, a geologist in his own right and good friend, Mike Renz asked me of what were my thoughts on alien life form having come from Mars. In quite a lengthy detail I explained to him why I’m seriously sceptical of this conclusion. Contamination a great factor plus regarding the trajectory and how strong the propulsion would have to be for a rock to be catapulted from Mars and find its way to our Earth.

Now that the story of alien life has relit itself and become a hot item of newsworthy stories, (Aliens exist, and we have proof.)
That astonishingly awesome claim comes from Dr. Richard B. Hoover, an astrobiologist at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, who says he has found conclusive evidence of alien life — fossils of bacteria found in an extremely rare class of meteorite called CI1 carbonaceous chondrites. (There are only nine such meteorites on planet Earth.) Hoover’s findings were published late Friday night in the Journal of Cosmology, a peer-reviewed scientific journal.
Astrobiologists from around the globe have weighed in and clearly think Hover’s claims of ET life are bogus.
I left a note to Phil Plait, creator of Bad Astronomy, astronomer, lecturer, and author, on Twitter yesterday that I’d be stealing his article link to post on my blog as a backup reference of what my conclusions were those some years ago. Since he didn’t tweet me back and said no I couldn’t, so here it is … with an excerpt from his post.
Excerpt: “When I read the paper, my first reaction was pretty strongly of the "Not buyin’ it" variety. The science seemed shaky, and Hoover’s techniques doubtful, but my lack of expertise prevented me from drawing strong conclusions. However, experts in the field of micro- and astrobiology are starting to weigh in, and clearly think the claims of ET life are bogus.” End of excerpt.
